I AM directed by the Secretary of State for India to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd instant on the subject of the Bhamo-Tengyuel Railway, and to say that he concurs in the proposed instructions to Sir J. Jordan.

With regard to your letter of the 31st December, 1906, the Secretary of State understands, from the telegram No. 254 of the 31st December from Sir J. Jordan, that the difficulty regarding the reconnaissance has apparently been settled.
